As he couldn’t find a competitive and affordable seat that Simon Abadie, then a driver in the French Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, decided to create – with the help of his sister - the Tech1 Racing team. The small team settled in the region of Toulouse in France, land of origin of the Abadie.

    2000 - 2003

    The first season in 2000, made of 7 podiums, ends with the runner-up title for Simon! The team continued its adventure in Formula Renault 2.0 for the next three seasons and obtained the second place of the team championship in 2003. 

  • 2005


    In 2005, Tech1 Racing wants to broaden its horizon, currently limited to France, and is therefore developing its activities. The team then turned to the Eurocup Megane Trophy, organized as part of the World Series by Renault. From the outset, the Toulouse team is very competitive and its efforts will pay quickly and permanently with no less than 3 consecutive Champion titles from 2006 to 2008.

  • 2006


    In 2006, the team added a new rope to its bow by joining the final echelon of the Formula Renault: the Formula Renault 3.5, the World Series by Renault's first category and real springboard of accession to Formula 1. After a first season of learning, successes came and the team won its first Team Champion title in its second season in 2007. From then until the end of the FR3.5 program of the team at the end of 2015 (Renault putting an end to the World Series by Renault), many talented drivers and future big names of the Motorsport World have succeeded one another: Alvaro Parente, Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Eric Vergne, Brendon Hartley, Charles Pic or the late Jules Bianchi .

    Recognized for its know-how in scouting and training young talents, the Tech 1 Racing team received the confidence of several Formula 1 teams through their young driver scheme: Red Bull Racing (in 2009 and 2010) or Ferrari and Sahara Force India (in 2012) ; And also management groups such as All Road Management, SMP Racing, iZone Driver Performance or Infinity Sports Management.

    For two seasons (2010 and 2011), Tech1 Racing has been involed in the GP3 Series championship, finishing both times in 6th place.

    In parallel to its racing programs, Tech1 Racing launched in 2010 an engineering department: ID1 Technologies. Simulation, data analysis, technical measures, ID1 Technologies is a true laboratory of the automotive.

    Since 2010, the team takes part in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, certainly the most challenging young drivers' championship in the world. To succeed and reach the highest step of the podium - as it did in 2010 (Team title) and 2013 (Team and Driver titles) Tech1 Racing uses and teaches its rich experience to young drivers in order to help them to reach the world elite of racing whether in F1 or Endurance.

  • 2015


    The year 2015 sees Tech1 Racing settle into new installations, larger and up to date. This new tool allows the team to look at the future with serenity and confirms more and more the ambition of the team to always move forward.

  • 2016


    In 2016, Tech1 Racing provides its racing experience to a brand new project, this time in endurance: the team takes in charge the logistics, engineering and all the development and technical assistance of the all-new Panis Barthez Competition team that competes in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) endurance championship in the LMP3 and LMP2 categories. The team is also taking part in the very prestigious 24-hour race at Le Mans (LMP2).
